Our Work
The Coalition identifies, researches and monitors issues that influence the well-being of children, youth and their families in the neighborhoods of New York City. As a result of this process, the Coalition develops advocacy efforts to support improved services and service delivery.

Since its inception, the Coalition has published and distributed timely reports, updates, and alerts based on our research. More importantly, we follow up with continued monitoring. By maintaining ongoing communication with over 750 community-based social service agencies and neighborhood programs, we are able to assess their needs and concerns and organize conferences, workshops, trainings and legislative briefings as issues arise.

The Coalition has been successful in generating public support for providing a broad range of neighborhood-based services that are both cost-effective and responsive to the needs of children, youth and families.

In addition, we have been at the forefront of the movement to build support for school-community collaborations and to encourage increased community access to public school space during the afterschool, evening, weekend, and summer hours.
